Its an advanced technology used to enhance the safety and efficiency of railways through fiber optic sensors along railway tracks to continuously monitor various parameters for track health and performance.
Flat wheels create specific acoustic signatures and vibrations that are distinct from other sources of noise. The DAS system can identify these signatures and can pinpoint the location of the flat wheel along the track.
It provides early alerts to train drivers approaching level crossings and activates a hooter 1 km in advance to notify gatemen, enhancing safety and preventing potential accidents. This system ensures timely, proactive warnings for both operators and crossing attendants, ensuring smoother and safer operations.
Digging create specific acoustic signatures and vibrations. The DAS system can detect excavation activities near track. DAS collects and analyzes data from fiber to identify potential digging events, preventing accidental damage.
The Control and Operation Center receives real-time train location data, enabling precise tracking of train movements on the track. It can also detect trolleys or unauthorized vehicle movements without the need for traditional track detection circuits, ensuring enhanced safety and operational efficiency.
