Telecom Asset Management System

The Telecom Asset Management System (TAMS) enhances telecom asset maintenance by preventing asset failures through timely actions and integrating existing assets with a maintenance information system.

The system leverages IoT-based Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and standard software interfaces for remote diagnostics, fostering data-driven decision-making.

Architecture

The RDPMS architecture for telecom integrates sensors with key telecom assets such as power supplies, routers, switches, and emergency sockets. These sensors communicate via protocols like Zigbee, LoRa, 4G, or Wi-Fi to an edge gateway, where data is collected and sent to cloud servers. AI and machine learning algorithms analyze the data to predict failures and optimize performance.

The system integrates with existing telecom infrastructure like Network Management Systems (NMS) and Element Management Systems (EMS), allowing seamless real-time monitoring. This enables predictive maintenance, reduces downtime, and enhances the efficiency of telecom operations.

Network Performance Monitoring

Tracks the performance of telecom assets like routers, switches, and antennas to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across networks.

Asset Health and Maintenance

Continuously monitors the health of critical telecom infrastructure such as power supplies, transmission towers, and fiber optics, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing the risk of asset failure

Inventory and Resource Management

Provides a detailed inventory of all telecom assets, allowing for efficient resource allocation, lifecycle management, and ensuring no critical equipment is underutilized or misplaced.

Compliance and License Management

Ensures assets are in compliance with regulatory standards and tracks spectrum licenses, facilitating timely renewals and avoiding penalties.

Applications

Energy Efficiency

Optimizes energy consumption by monitoring power usage in telecom infrastructure, improving sustainability and reducing operational costs.

Real-time Fault Detection

Detects faults in real-time across network assets, allowing for immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain service reliability.

Remote Management

Enables remote monitoring and management of telecom assets in distributed locations, reducing the need for on-site inspections and improving efficiency.

Benefits

  • Ensuring safety through timely maintenance and replacement of equipment.

  • Geo-tagged and GIS-based information management.

  • Centralized and digitized data for improved management and future integration.

  • Optimized planning for replacement and procurement processes.

  • Comprehensive asset register and valuation for the entire division.

  • Availability of detailed asset information, including product specifications, test approvals, configuration, and usage details (e.g., Date of Installation (DOI), Date of Commissioning (DOC), mid-life, warranty period, AMC status).

  • Analysis of equipment performance based on maintenance and inspection records.

  • Ability to monitor and manage maintenance and inspection schedules.

  • Integration with IoT/sensor-based condition monitoring systems
