Intrusion Detection System
The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is an advanced safety solution combining the DAS server, LC Gate unit, ASM unit, and Driver Display Console. The DAS server monitors vibrations and activities near tracks, detecting potential threats like animals or construction.
The LC Gate unit alerts gatemen of approaching trains at level crossings, while the ASM unit provides station masters with real-time alarms for hazards. The Driver Display Console alerts train drivers to obstacles ahead, enabling them to take precautions
DAS Server
Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) server monitors vibrations along optical fibers by utilizing two laser channels that cover a total distance of more than 80KM.
It contains various signal processing sensors to analyze and process signals from these channels. The server runs a full-fledged operating system, enabling real-time signal processing and monitoring for a wide range of applications.
ASM Unit
The ASM (Assistant Station Master) Unit connects to a central server and provides the station master with real-time audio-visual alarms for critical activities like elephant presence or construction work. The station master can acknowledge these alarms, ensuring they are tracked and addressed promptly. This system enhances safety by enabling quick responses to potential hazards on or near railway tracks.
LC Gate Unit
The LC Gate (Level Crossing Gate) Unit alerts the gateman when a train approaches the crossing. This early warning system ensures the gateman can take necessary precautions, such as lowering barriers or signaling, to prevent accidents. It enhances safety at railway crossings by providing timely alerts to manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic efficiently.
Driver Display Console
The Driver Display Console is a wireless LTE device designed to alert train drivers with real-time audio-visual alarms about elephants or other obstacles within a designated range ahead of the moving train. These warnings allow the driver to reduce speed and take necessary precautions to avoid accidents.
By providing timely alerts, the console helps maintain both the safety of the train and its operational efficiency. This system is crucial for preventing collisions and ensuring smooth railway operations in areas prone to wildlife crossings or other hazards.
